How this page is built. The line above the heatmap always says which of the page's two modes you are looking at. In batch mode (after the close) every figure is a mechanical aggregation of the latest daily batch. In live mode (while a session is running, and from the frozen tape after it ends) the same figures are rebuilt from the live quote tape across the full listed universe: securities that have not traded yet stay on the map as flat no-data tiles and are counted in the "not yet traded" figure — they are never silently dropped. In both modes, tile color comes from each security's day change, breadth counts securities that closed (or last traded) higher or lower, leaders and laggards rank by day change, and turnover share divides each sector's session turnover by total turnover. Sector averages on this page are equal-weighted constituent averages computed here from the same batch or tape — they are not the official NEPSE sub-index values. Securities with no day change are left out of breadth, leaders and laggards, and average change. The grouping is honest about its limits: Debentures, Mutual Funds and Promoter Shares are instrument types, not NEPSE sectors (taken from the universe instrument-type field, NEPSE debenture symbol suffixes, and bond/rinpatra/fund/kosh in the official company name). Banking, Hydropower and the other named groups are NEPSE sub-indexes, mapped per symbol from explicit business words in the official company name plus verified overrides for symbols whose names do not reveal the business (for example BNL and UNL in manufacturing, SCBD and SHINED as debentures, Chandragiri Hills and Kalinchowk Darshan in hotels and tourism). Others is NEPSE's own Others sub-index bucket (for example NTC, NRM, Nepal Warehousing). Every listed security sits in exactly one group. This is for education only, not investment advice.
